Following Leeds United’s return to the Championship, it was only a matter of time before clubs started hovering around Wilfried Gnonto.
The Italy international was one of the great positives at Elland Road after his arrival in the January transfer window, and surprised everyone with his impressive displays.
Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday explain that while Juventus aren’t actively negotiating for him just yet, they might have made their first move when it comes to understanding the feasibility of a deal.
That’s because Marco Busiello, the partner of Claudio Vigorelli, was ‘spotted at the entrance’ of the Serie A club’s sport centre on Thursday morning, where he met directors Francesco Calvo and Giovanni Manna.
Their information is that ‘there has been talk’ about two clients of his, those being Nicolo Zaniolo and the Leeds United star.
They see it as a ‘way to keep up-to-date’ with the two players, and they are described as ‘intriguing ideas’ more than anything else for the time being.
A lot will depend on what happens with Federico Chiesa, who appears to be on his way out of Turin, targeted by a few big clubs.
Should he leave, then both the Leeds forward and his international teammate can become ‘concrete options’.
Whether a deal could be struck remains to be seen, but it’s made clear that if they do come forward to try and take him away from Elland Road, it would be in the shape of a loan.
Perhaps a deal like the one they struck with Everton for Moise Kean? We’ll have to wait and see.
