Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré was on loan at Sevilla last season, and they didn’t exercise their buying option, resulting in the player returning to the King Power in the summer.
On October 19th, we covered claims from Spain which stated Soumaré has expressed his desire to leave Leicester in the winter market.
Estadio Deportivo now talks the possibility of the La Liga side bringing the 25-year-old back to the club. His limited game time with the Foxes this season had brought him closer to the Andalusian club for January.
There’s been new developments at Leicester and Sevilla which makes the potential deal difficult for the Spanish club.
Steve Cooper, who didn’t rely upon Soumaré at the start of this season, started him twice in the league last month. Leicester have replaced the manager, and the midfielder started against Brentford last weekend.
The Foxes appointed Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager last week, and there’s a belief the midfielder will have opportunities under the Dutchman.
Meanwhile, Sevilla are focusing on strengthening their attack and finding a new left-back, if Valentín Barco were to leave in the winter market. Therefore, Estadio state they can’t focus on Soumaré and are giving up on signing him.
