Napoli are wary of ‘strong competition’ from Liverpool for Manchester City icon Kevin de Bruyne this summer.

That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who report that Napoli have already made a move for the Belgian midfielder.

De Bruyne is set to leave Manchester City this summer and clubs all over the world have been lining up to offer him a potential deal as a result.

Napoli are one of them and Sport Mediaset report that they have already come forward with a concrete offer: a two-year contract worth €8m net plus bonuses per season.

De Bruyne is taking his time on a decision over his future, with reports earlier this month that his wife had already been house hunting in Naples and rejected various ideas put forwards.

That’s led to some concern among Napoli’s leadership, who fear the ‘strong competition’ from Liverpool. They, of course, have the advantage of only being 60km from his current residence.

Even Mohamed Salah has been toying with the idea, with the Egyptian star joking this week that they have room in the team for De Bruyne if he wants to make the move to Liverpool this summer.

Napoli are more than aware of that and fear missing out to the Premier League champions, even with such a solid proposal already offered to De Bruyne and his camp.
