Everton may be handed a chance to sell defender Michael Keane this summer, with Salernitana considering a move for him.

That’s according to TV Oggi Salerno, who say sporting director Morgan de Sanctis ‘thought about’ a move for the centre-back in recent months.

Keane has been with Everton since a move from Burnley in July 2017 and had been a regular at first, starring under a succession of managers.

He’s found himself out of the picture this season, though, with former manager Frank Lampard preferring Conor Coady and James Tarkowski as his central defensive pairing.

That meant Keane has spent most of the season sat on the bench, although that has changed since Sean Dyche’s arrival, with him starting the last four games in the league.

Despite that, most would be happy to see the 30-year-old depart this summer and Salernitana may provide Everton with that opportunity.

TV Oggi state that he is on their list of possible targets for the summer, with De Sanctis having ‘thought about’ a move in the last few months.

What sort of deal they’re looking at, and for what price, isn’t mentioned but it’s certainly unlikely Everton will get anywhere near the €28.5m they spent in 2017.
