Despite all the talk that many clubs in Italy are lining up to potentially welcome Antonio Conte when he leaves Tottenham, that isn’t the case.
That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Biasin, who spoke to Calciomercato.it about the Italian manager’s future and made it clear teams aren’t obsessed about hiring the Spurs boss.
Conte’s tenure at Tottenham appears to be coming to an end following his strong comments after the 3-3 draw against Southampton, and many expect him to be gone sooner rather than later.
At this point, it would be a surprise to see him finish the season, especially with a manager like Julian Nagelsmann recently hitting the free agent market.
Biasin said: “I think the assumption is wrong. Right now, everyone is saying that many teams would like Conte and he is out. That’s he’s leaving is a guarantee, but I think it’s more him looking for accommodation rather than there being a queue.
“Taking Conte involves many things, including doing the transfer window as he asks, having the players in the squad that he wants and taking someone who can also criticise the club in front of the cameras.”
Tottenham are currently fourth in the Premier League, having won 15 of a potential 28 games, and sit two points ahead of Newcastle, who have two games in hand on the London side.
