Earlier this week, we covered reports from the Argentine media which said Manchester United are interested in Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino.
A story from Planeta Boca Juniors claimed that the Red Devils recently made enquiries for the player, who’d only be sold this window for €25m.
Outlet El Crack Deportivo now shares an update on this story, and they do make it sound like Manchester United are advancing in the talks.
On El Crack Deportivo Noticias, Jonathan Riniti claimed there’s expectation for a bid from the Red Devils.
“Boca are expecting an offer from Manchester United for Anselmino. Just as Liverpool are looking at Equi Fernandez, they are looking at the centre-back as the future Lisandro Martinez”.
It’s said that other clubs, such as Benfica and AC Milan, are also competing for the defender.
Anselmino is 18 years old and is just getting started with his career, having made just five appearances for Boca Juniors’ first team so far.
The Argentine club are said to be excited about his potential, and are expected to hold a place for him in the squad for the next season.
Premier League clubs have been shopping for South American youngsters for a few years now, and it seems Manchester United appear to be interested in starting doing that as well.
