On July 11th, Mundo Deportivo reported West Ham United are in advanced negotiations with Real Betis over a deal for Luiz Felipe.
Three days later, Estadio Deportivo stated the defender’s agent has informed the La Liga side about the Hammers’ ‘strong interest’ in him.
Monday’s ABC Sevilla states negotiations between West Ham and Real Betis for 26-year-old, for around €20m, are ‘still alive’.
It’s said there were meetings in London last week with Felipe’s agent and intermediaries, to ‘advance the transfer’ to West Ham.
The report states all parties have ‘made clear progress’ for the future agreement to take Felipe to West Ham, who are now waiting to sort out ‘some internal issues’.
David Moyes’ side are still keen and this was shown by the ‘concrete progress’ made to outline the details of the contract with the player.
Real Betis are waiting for the Premier League side to make a formal offer, but for now they have ‘different priorities’. It’s stated West Ham’s Mark Noble is waiting for Moyes to return from the pre-season tour of Australia to ‘take the next steps’.
West Ham and Real Betis intermediaries will continue talks as the report states all parties are ‘convinced’ there will be progress made on this deal, in the form of a ‘formal written proposal’ from the Hammers.
If this were to happen, it would be followed by further negotiations between the two clubs to sort out the last details of the operation.
Felipe joined the Spanish club for free last summer and his sale would help them reshape their squad for the new season.
