Chelsea took Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors in the summer window and allowed him to return to the Argentine club on a season-long loan deal.

On Monday, we covered claims from Argentina which stated Chelsea have informed Boca Juniors of their desire to cut shot the defender’s loan stay in January.

Olé backs it up and provide more updates on Anselmino’s impending return to the Premier League side.

Boca Juniors have received an official notification from the Blues to activate the clause to terminate the 19-year-old’s temporary deal next month.

The South American club have released an official statement, relayed by the newspaper: ‘Boca received notification from Chelsea to activate the recall [clause] for Aaron Anselmino, who will continue his career at the English club starting in January.’

According to the report, the Premier League side had agreed a $18m [€17.3m] deal with Boca Juniors in the last window and a loan deal for one year.

Since the Blues have informed the Argentine club of their decision to recall the player, Olé state Boca Juniors will now receive an extra $1m [€960,000].

Enzo Maresca is currently without both Benoît Badiashile and Wesley Fofana and due to injuries to the centre-back duo, Olé claim Chelsea have decided to bring Anselmino to Stamford Bridge in January.
