Villarreal are confident they can get a deal done for Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlos Soler, despite apparent interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.

That’s at least if El Periodico de Mediterraneo are to be believed, with them stating that Brighton’s apparent interest doesn’t concern the Spanish side.

The newspaper explains that Villarreal have already started talks with PSG over a move for the Valencian midfielder. The French giants are keen to move him on after a loan spell at West Ham was not made permanent.

Initially Villarreal are opting for a loan deal, due to the player’s high wage demands. PSG, on the other hands, would prefer a full transfer and the fee that would come with it.

The two sides could meet in the middle on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause. That would, ultimately, satisfy everyone.

Villarreal are working towards getting a deal done and are not concerned by reported interest from Brighton. They have been named as suitors in the French media.

Instead, Villarreal are confident they can get the deal done and secure ‘one of the most striking operations of this summer’ according to the newspaper.
