Cruzeiro are confident that they can negotiate with Arsenal and strike an agreement to avoid having to sign him on a permanent deal.
That’s according to Bolavip, who report that the Brazilian are confident that they can avoid signing the loanee this summer.
Marquinhos is currently on loan at the club, but the deal includes a clause that means they will have to buy him permanently if he plays a certain number of games.
This has led to Marquinhos being left on the bench since the beginning of the month and manager Leonardo Jardim admitted this week that talks were ongoing with Arsenal about the agreement.
Bolavip now follow that up and say Cruzeiro are confident of striking a deal with Arsenal to renegotiate the current loan and avoid the mandatory purchase. They want to ‘easy the terms’ of the current agreement.
Marquinhos has played 16 games for Cruzeiro so far, seven of them before Jardim arrived as manager. The club want more time to evaluate him before deciding on a permanent move.
He was actually a signing requested by previous managed Fernando Diniz and it’s now up to Arsenal to decide what to do, with the current loan deal running until the end of this year and a danger Marquinhos will spend that time sat out of action if an agreement can’t be reached.
