Sturm Graz are closing in on a deal for Liverpool youngster Vitezslav Jaros as they look for a goalkeeper to cover for the remainder of the season.
That’s according to Austrian journalist Peter Linden, who reports that sports director Andreas Schicker has ‘used his network’ to secure the signing.
He explains that Sturm Graz are on the hunt for a new number one goalkeeper to cover until the end of the season after current incumbent Kjell Scherpen, who was on loan from Brighton, was ruled out until next season as he needs to undergo cruciate ligament surgery.
That’s led them to exploring the market this month and Schicker has used his network of contacts and ‘found what he was looking for’ at Liverpool.
Talks are already underway between the two sides and, as of Monday, only the ‘final details’ had to be clarified between the two sides.
Jaros will be making the move to Austria and it’s is seen as something of a risk-free operation as they believe Liverpool wouldn’t have signed him if he didn’t have talent.
That’s a bold assumption really but they’re convinced either way and talks are at an advanced stage for him to join on loan.
