At the end of the summer window, Nottingham Forest signed Murillo from Corinthians.

The Tricky Trees spent €12m to buy the defender, who was a starter in their last two games in the Premier League.

Now as journalist Jorge Nicola shares some news on Corinthians’ transfer business, it seems the club are claiming Nottingham Forest haven’t paid for Murillo yet.

This story starts with Argentinos Juniors. They’ve seen their fullback Santiago Montiel linked with a move to the Brazilian club, and their president went public to say they won’t negotiate.

That is because Corinthians haven’t paid instalments for the transfer of Fausto Vera, signed from the Argentine side, and are expected to get a transfer ban for that.

To explain the situation, the Brazilian side reportedly claimed they’re waiting for Nottingham Forest’s payment for Murillo.

According to Nicola, Corinthians claim they didn’t see the money for that move, as well as from Lucas Piton’s move to Vasco da Gama.

The journalist doesn’t seem to completely believe that version, claiming “it’s strange to see an English club delaying payments”.

That could be a bluff from Corinthians, who wouldn’t expect their claims to reach Nottingham Forest.
