São Paulo are unlikely to follow up interest in Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius, preferring move for a more versatile forward addition in the summer.
That’s according to Bolavip, who have consulted both sides of the transfer rumour in an attempt to find out what’s going.
Reports throughout this week have linked Carlos Vinicius with a growing list of Brazilian clubs as he gets set to be a free agent in the summer.
His current deal with Fulham expires in the summer and all indications are that they will go their separate ways as he’s fallen down the pecking order over the last year.
These reports indicated he would be open to returning to his homeland and several clubs, including São Paulo, intend to make him an offer.
Bolavip now report that won’t be the case, explaining that they’ve contacted both parties to discover what’s going on behind the scenes.
According to them, the Fulham striker’s entourage confirmed that several Brazilian sides have made inquiries in the last few months. These are Palmeiras, Bahia, Bragantino, Fluminense, Botafogo, Grêmio and São Paulo.
The latter, though, made their approaches at the end of last year and the beginning of this year and have not returned since.
That is because their board has convinced the coaching department not to add in that area as they have Jonathan Calleri, André Silva and the emerging Ryan Francisco. Any move for the Fulham striker has been ‘discarded’.
They could add a forward in future but would prefer to sign someone who is multi-functional and play on the wings as well. Thus, they can be ruled out,
