Following the first reports from the English media claiming Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Renan Lodi from Atletico Madrid, we now get to see the rumour being covered by the Brazilian press.
UOL turns up to say that Forest’s intention is to sign the fullback on a loan deal. The main reason for that is the price requested by the La Liga side for a permanent move, which is €40m.
For a simple loan spell, Atletico Madrid are demanding €5m. This is said to be the ‘most viable way’ for Nottingham Forest to do a deal, even though the operation is ‘not considered simple’.
UOL still points out that despite some rumours regarding Renan Lodi’s transfer to Newcastle United, there was ‘no advance’ in the talks with the Magpies, meaning the City Ground side is ahead in the race right now.
This week, we’ve seen Nottingham Forest also being strongly linked to right-backs, as besides being close to landing Djibril Sidibé, Serge Aurier reportedly has an agreement to join the club too. Now unstoppable in the transfer window, the club seem to be working on reinforcing the left side as well.
