Fenerbahçe has asked about Burnley midfielder Sander Berge as they continue targeting new signings for Jose Mourinho.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who reports that the Turkish side have ‘asked about the situation’ of the Burnley man.
Fenerbahçe have already enjoyed a busy summer of signings to date after the high-profile arrival of Mourinho as their new manager at the beginning of June.
Çağlar Söyüncü, Allan Saint-Maximin, Oguz Aydin, Rade Krunic, Levent Mercan and Cenk Tosun have already been signed and more arrivals are expected to satisfy the Portuguese manager.
They’ve been linked with player across Europe and the latest name to add to that list is Burnley midfielder Sander Berge.
At this moment in time, it appears contact has been opened with Burnley and the Turkish side have only ‘asked about’ the player’s situation. In other words, Fenerbahçe have questioned whether he’s available.
There’s no answer on that front at this moment in time, with it unclear if Berge would be happy to remain in the Championship or fancies a move to get away from that.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on either way, with more developments surely on the way now that Fenerbahçe have contacted Burnley.
