Timo Werner spent the second half of last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring two goals and registering three assists from 13 league games.

Back in May, Tottenham extended the 28-year-old’s loan stay until the end of this season, with an option to buy.

This week’s edition of SportBild mentions the Tottenham man when discussing Leipzig’s plan to strengthen their squad.

They have identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani as a target and want to bring the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker back to the Bundesliga.

SportBild state Randal Kolo Muani is likely to leave PSG next summer, and could even move in January. PSG’s Xavi Simons is on loan at the German club, and they would like to make his stay permanent.

Leipzig have to raise funds to carry out signings and to do this, they have to part ways with some of their players. SportBild mention players they would ‘give up’ and Werner is included in this list.

It’s claimed Tottenham have a €12m purchase option and Leipzig appear to be counting on Spurs exercising this clause to buy Werner.

The forward has a goal and two assists from 14 games this season and whether the north London club will buy him needs to be seen.

RB Leipzig appear to be counting on it for their own purchases.
