Tottenham are ‘willing to go all out’ for Boca Juniors youngster Ezequiel Fernández and have already made the first enquiries over a deal.
That’s according to Boca Noticias, who say Tottenham have ‘appeared eager’ to sign the youngster and continue their focus on scooping up young talent.
Boca have found themselves losing their top talent over the last few years, with Valentin Barco the latest to depart in a €10m move to Brighton in the January transfer window.
The focus is now on Fernández, who is considered the next gem in the Boca factory and the belief is that they are ‘close to’ losing the midfielder.
President Juan Roman Riquelme is reportedly aware that Tottenham like the youngster and have recently appeared on the scene and ‘eager to sign’ him.
As yet they have not made any formal approach for the player, but signals have been sent that they are ‘willing to go all out’ to secure his signature.
Boca, and Riquelme, are completely uninterested in losing the player at this moment in time and would likely resist any formal bids should they arrive.
There is also interest from Inter Milan, although they have not yet seemingly made a formal approach either and are simply following in his first footsteps.
Thus, this will have to be taken with a pinch of salt for now. The signing would certainly make sense for Tottenham, who have set about signing up young talent from all over the place over the last year or so.
Their focus under Ange Postecoglou appears to be signing youngsters and Fernández is certainly a name to keep an eye on.
He’s been linked to clubs all over Europe already, though, as most Boca youngsters tend to be, and at this point it feels like Boca Noticias are simply throwing names out there.
