Napoli’s Piotr Zieliński has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports coming out of Italy.
The 28-year-old has not enjoyed a good season with the Serie A side, managing eight goals and five assists in all competitions.
Despite this, he managed to attract attention from Tottenham Hotspur. That’s according to Il Mattino, relayed by Area Napoli.
Spurs chief Fabio Paratici rates him ‘a lot’, and their manager, Antonio Conte has long had his sights on the Poland international. The ex-Chelsea boss wanted him at Inter Milan in 2019, but never received the green light, likely from the Naples club.
Zieliński’s current deal runs down in 2024, with his employer having an option to extend it further by a year. Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis, and their sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, have let Spurs and others know his price would be around €50m.
With both Paratici and Conte admirers of the player, the outlet states ‘now something can change’, but not for the €50m quoted by the Italian club.
