Sékou Koïta would be heading towards Everton this summer, according to a report from Africa.
The Mali international is now without a club since his deal with Red Bull Salzburg expired on June 30th.
Africafoot claim Everton, Vfb Stuttgart, RC Lens and CSKA Moscow are the clubs to have shown interest in the 24-year-old.
Sean Dyche’s side have taken the lead as it’s claimed they have reached an agreement with the forward.
Africafoot say this is their original information and a source close to Koïta has told them that the Toffees would have accepted all requests made by the player.
It’s further claimed the player’s transfer to the Merseyside club is ‘almost complete’, and the two parties are ‘only waiting’ to sort out a few details related to the transfer. The report makes no mention of what those details are.
Koïta spent five years at Red Bull Salzburg, where he managed 43 goals and 21 assists from 106 matches. He frequently struggled with injuries during his time in Austria.
