Despite the player being at London Stadium to watch West Ham United beat Chelsea 3-1, it appears the transfer of Konstantinos Mavropanos could be off.
The news comes from Santi Aouna, who took to Twitter for Foot Mercato to announce the news that the transfer ‘could collapse’ after the defender ‘failed his medical’.
It’s recalled that West Ham and VfB Stuttgart agreed a deal for the transfer of the Greece international, and everything seemed to be on his way for him to be the Harry Maguire alternative.
However, the tests that the Hammers made him undergo ‘showed injury problems’, and the player could ‘finally not sign’ for the Premier League side.
It isn’t made clear what the issues are when it comes to his physical condition, but it’s clearly worried West Ham enough to consider pulling the plug on the deal.
One to keep an eye on, because this isn’t something many were expecting at this stage in the transfer, with many firmly believing this would go through and David Moyes would be getting his defensive reinforcement.
