Malang Sarr has barely been signed by Chelsea and should be moving elsewhere already.

According to claims from the Portuguese media, the defender is on his way to Porto on loan for the rest of the season.

The deal is widely covered in Portugal, and newspaper O Jogo is the one bringing more details. They say Chelsea believe the player must go through ‘an intermediary level’ before settling himself in London.

It’s claimed that Sampdoria were also interested in his signing, but couldn’t compete with Porto. Since the Dragons are fighting for the Portuguese league title and also feature in the Champions League, that’s something that got the preference both from the Blues and the player.

Even though Sarr is primarily a central defender, he’s seen by Porto as a potential replacement for left-back Alex Telles, who’s on his way to Manchester United. So it’s quite likely he’ll get many minutes there.

Chelsea signed the 21-year-old on a free move from Nice this summer. He signed a five-year deal with the Blues.
