Chelsea are keen on signing Santos’ Deivid Washington.
Santos president Andrés Rueda has admitted the deal to take the 18-year-old to the west London club is on the right track.
“It’s well underway. I just like to talk about a player the moment he signs the contract, but I would say he is well on his way,” he told De Olho No Peixe, relayed by Gazeta Esportiva.
Since Rueda made this claim on Monday, there have been positive reports in Brazil that brings the forward closer to Chelsea.
According to Globo Esporte, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have tabled a €15m offer and it’s ‘already accepted’ by Santos.
The Brazilian club are waiting for the player to agree a deal with the Blues for the transfer to take shape. This is expected to be sorted out soon as the report says Washington’s sale to Chelsea should be announced in the next few days.
Over at Lance!, they state the youngster no longer trains with Santos after they accepted the Premier League side’s offer. He should ‘say goodbye’ to his teammates on Tuesday.
It’s further claimed Washington and his family are waiting to find out the date to travel to England to sign the deal with Chelsea. Lance! say this is ‘likely to happen this weekend’.
