Yesterday, we covered an article in Tuttosport about the possibility of Nemanja Matic potentially moving to Juventus as Antonio Conte didn’t really see him as a must-have player in his plans.
Chelsea wanted a direct transfer while Juventus preferred a loan with the option to buy, and negotiations were clearly needed to reach a middle ground.
Well, Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday rip all of this to shreds as they look at Juventus’ midfield targets for the summer as they believe the Serbian defensive midfielder is ‘unsellable’ in Conte’s eyes.
That’s quite a difference of opinion from two papers in the same country, which doesn’t happen all that much, but the pink newspaper are quite adamant about this.
The former Benfica star really appeals to the Serie A champions and, despite this insistence from Chelsea he isn’t for sale, Beppe Marotta, Juventus’ CEO, is waiting for any sign of weakness from the Premier League club.
As the Gazzetta put it, if any ‘chink’ in Chelsea’s stance were to appear, Marotta would be on the first plane to London to hold talks.
If we had to pick, we’d believe Gazzetta over Tuttosport, any day.
