It seems Inter Milan are finally engaging in their operation to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer.
In the past few months, the rumours about the striker’s future were only floating around, with the Italian media claiming that despite the Nerazzurri’s wish to keep him, they were analysing the market and looking for the best scenario to design a cheap transfer.
That has all changed, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport. The newspaper today writes that Inter Milan have given up on loans and buying options for Lukaku, and will now move to buy him from Chelsea.
The Nerazzurri are said to be very satisfied with the fact that the striker only wants to join them, getting ready to take a big pay cut and rejecting all other clubs that come for him.
A summit between Inter Milan and Chelsea is expected to take place at the start of the week. Even though the Blues reportedly set a price of €45m for the sale, it’s believed that it could be done for less.
According to Gazzetta, the Serie A side could get that done for between €30m and €40m, with bonuses included. That will all depend on the negotiations.
Inter Milan’s decision about the purchase was communicated to Chelsea a couple of days ago, so they shall be waiting for that.
