Last Thursday, Argentine journalist Germán García Grova reported Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle with Boca Juniors to sign Aaron Anselmino in the summer window.
He also said the Argentine club want to have the defender back on loan until December, while the Blues want him in Europe.
Olé now claim the 19-year-old’s sale to the Premier League side has entered it’s ‘decisive stage’.
TyC Sports say Boca Juniors have negotiated for several days and have now reached an agreement to sell the centre-back to Chelsea for an ‘exorbitant amount’.
Enzo Maresca’s side will pay $18m [£14.2m] and this is said to be ‘exorbitant’ considering the youngster has only played 10 games since being promoted to Boca Juniors’ first team in 2023.
Anselmino will sign a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge and TyC Sports claim this shows he will be part of the Premier League side’s long-term plan.
Chelsea are finalising the payment method, indicating that they aren’t activating his release clause. The Blues are also analysing Boca Juniors’ request to have the player back on loan for another year, with Chelsea having an option to cut short his stay in December.
The deal is set to go through once Chelsea sort out these details.
