The Spanish media is very optimistic about an agreement between Barcelona and Chelsea for the transfer of Cesar Azpilicueta.

On Thursday, we covered Mundo Deportivo claiming these are ‘decisive hours’ for the transfer, with the player keen on reaching a deal with the Catalan side before Saturday.

Now a couple of other outlets share their positive news about the move as well. Sport is one of them, saying Azpilicueta will have a meeting with Chelsea before the trip to the United States, and try to sort his transfer out.

El Chiringuito, meanwhile, claim the fullback’s arrival at Barcelona is now ‘very close’, as the transfer could be agreed for around €3m.

The information shared on Twitter comes from journalist José Álvarez, and there are no other details shared. It’s just said the clubs are now near an understanding for that amount, which sounds like a bargain.

The Spanish media makes it clear that Azpilicueta’s wish is to move this summer, and his urge to get the deal done in the coming days is to be part of Barça’s pre-season instead of continuing working with Chelsea. The low price for his transfer is due to his short time of contract with the Blues, since it expires in less than a year.
