Earlier this month, Chelsea confirmed that they have completed the signing of Marc Guiu from Barcelona.

Prior to his arrival at the west London club, the Catalan media said the striker rejected the La Liga side’s renewal offer because the Blues had offered him a better deal, both sporting wise and financially.

Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo indicates the 18-year-old won’t have a major role at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca next season.

Chelsea have several options in the attacking position, including Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana, who have returned to the club from their respective loan spells.

Mundo say Guiu will find it difficult to have more game time at Chelsea, without taking into account that Broja, Fofana and Lukaku are unlikely to have any future at the club.

It’s claimed the Premier League side are considering sending Guiu out on loan to Sevilla this summer. Both Rafa Mir and Youssef En-Nesyri are expected to leave the Andalusian club and the move would allow Guiu to enjoy more minutes.

The newspaper claims Sevilla are ‘waiting for him’ to arrive on a temporary deal.

Guiu could leave Chelsea on loan, weeks after signing a five-year deal. Given the claims at the time of the transfer, it would be a surprise twist.
