With Celtic set to take on Lazio at Celtic Park tomorrow night, today afforded the Italian media a last chance to get a hint of the latter’s preparation for the game.
The local media were able to attend the beginning of the training session, and that obviously gave them clues about Lazio’s squad for the match against Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Il Messaggero provide all the details today after watching Maurizio Sarri’s side start their session.
They provide the latest from the Formello sports centre ahead of the Champions League clash, stating the Italian side are very finalising their choices ahead of the Celtic match.
The newspaper attended 15 minutes of training this morning before the clash tomorrow, in which they state ‘there will be a lot at stake’ for Maurizio Sarri and his side.
Sarri is currently evaluating which formation he should go with as the Celtic games comes in a busy period in which they take on Atalanta on Sunday as well.
Ivan Provedel is expected to start in goal as usual, with Adam Marusic at right back. Left back is being contested between Luca Pellegrini and Elseid Hysaj, the former competing hard to oust the latter. Centre back should be a pairing of Nicolo Casale and Alessio Romagnoli, but Patric is trying to force his way in.
In midfield ‘everything revolves’ around Luis Alberto, who, if he plays, will likely be paired alongside Matias Vecino and Daichi Kamada. If Sarri decides to rest the Spaniard, though, Vecino could be dropped deeper, and Danilo Cataldi brought in.
The usual front three of Felipe Anderson, Ciro Immobile and Mattia Zaccagni is expected upfront, although Pedro ‘will still try to change the game’ after he impressed at the San Siro recently.
So, there you have it, a full in-depth analysis ahead of the game. If Celtic were looking for any tips before it, a quick read of Il Messaggero wouldn’t go a miss.
