Spanish side Espanyol have had to turn down a potential move for Celtic’s Josip Juranovic, as they believe he is now ‘unattainable’.
That’s according to AS, who cover Espanyol’s interest in the Croatian full-back today after his impressive performances at the World Cup.
The right-back has been one of the stars for Croatia in their run to the semi-finals in Qatar, putting in a series of impressive performances that have earned him a growing list of admirers.
AS say he has ‘been put on Espanyol’s table’ as a possible target and the Spanish side ‘received in recent days’ a proposal to sign him.
They, though, had to reject the possible deal as they believed the Juranovic was ‘out of the parameters’ that the club has set for it’s transfer dealings.
They have been informed that Celtic will not let Juranovic go for ‘less than nine or ten million’, taking advantage of his displays at the World Cup.
They have ‘revalued’ the player and Celtic are now ‘trying to cash in on’ the defender, who has also been linked to Atlético Madrid and Barcelona.
Where he ends up remains to be seen but there is a feel that his ‘future seems to lie far from Scotland’
