Bologna are considering a move for Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley as a potential replacement for Nicolas Dominguez.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Celtic man is a potential replacement being considered for the 25-year-old Argentinian.
Dominguez is currently being linked with a move away from the Italian club, with Nottingham Forest keen on his signature and pushing for a deal.
Should he depart then it would leave a hole in Bologna’s midfield that would need filling and Gazzetta report that a list of names is being drawn upp.
They cover various rumours around the club today and state while they have been given ‘zero confirmations’ over names such as Michy Batshuayi and Dennis Man, the same cannot be said of the Celtic player.
O’Riley is very much a name which is ‘on the list’ at the club, although it appears he is a second-choice option, behind Internacional Porto Alegre’s Johnny Cardoso at this moment in time.
The implication from Gazzetta, though, is that they have spoken to sources at Bologna, and they have confirmed that the Celtic man is very much a name that the Italian club are considering.
Whether Celtic would be willing to let the midfielder leave Celtic Park is up for debate given he’s featured heavily under Brendan Rodgers at the beginning of this season and appears to be a big part of his plans.
