German manager Julian Nagelsmann appears to have denied reports he’s ruled himself out of the running for the Chelsea job, insisting he had not committed to the club in the first place.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who covers a statement from the manager amid increasing reports about him pulling out from taking the Blues job.
Reports in England had claimed that Nagelsmann had stepped down from attempts to take over at Chelsea as they seek a permanent replacement for Graham Potter.
He’s available on a free transfer after being surprisingly sacked by Bayern Munich last month but has been linked with a quick return to management in England.
it seems he won’t be on the way to Chelsea as it was claimed that he had cancelled any further talks, but he’s reacted to those claims, stating that “to cancel something, you have to commit to something”.
It appears he is not happy with the reports that are circulating and instead wants to set the record straight on the matter by pointing out that nothing had been agreed in the first place.
Where he now ends up remains to be seen, with Tottenham still a possibility as they hunt their replacement for Antonio Conte and Real Madrid even cited as an option.
