Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been without Kasper Schmeichel since he picked up a shoulder injury whilst in action for Denmark during March’s international break.
On March 27th, Denmark manager Brian Riemer stated the Celtic goalkeeper’s injury isn’t serious, but he could be out of a few weeks. The 38-year-old is set to be on the sidelines for five to six weeks.
On Friday, Celtic posted a picture of the Dane training, and this led to suggestion of an injury boost to the Scottish champions.
Tipsbladet looks at the former Leicester City star’s shocking return to training with Celtic. They also contacted Brendan Rodgers’ side for an update about the stopper’s situation.
Celtic have told the Danish outlet that Schmeichel did take part in training on Friday, but he only ‘ran and kicked the ball’. The goalkeeper, however, didn’t touch the ball with his hands.
The report adds there has been no change in the timeline of the stopper’s recovery. This means he’ll be out for five to six weeks, while Tipsbladet say Celtic hope that Schmeichel ‘can be ready sooner’.
