Zeki Amdouni left Burnley in the summer transfer window, joining Benfica on loan with an option to buy.
So far, the 24-year-old has played 17 times in all competitions for Benfica, scoring five times and picking up one assist. The Lisbon club have been left impressed and are set to make the move permanent.
That’s according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, stating Benfica’s belief that Amdouni has a lot to give to the club and that directors are convinced he will play a big part in the future.
They have planned with the Switzerland international for the 2025/26 season and manager Bruno Lage has also been positively influenced by the forward’s performances in this campaign.
The player is also quite comfortable at the Estadio da Luz and the feeling is that Benfica will trigger the option to buy.
Burnley will stand to receive a fee of €20m from the permanent sale, having already earned €2m from the initial loan deal.
Personal terms for a longer stay were agreed at the time of the loan deal.
