Burnley are closing in on the signing of FC Basel centre-forward Zeki Amdouni, according to claims today.

Foot Mercato write that the Clarets are ‘targeting’ the 22-year-old, and have ‘advanced’ discussions to get his signing done.

Amdoubi is reportedly ‘seduced’ by the chance of joining Vincent Kompany at Burnley and trying his luck in the Premier League.

The Clarets are said to be in a hurry to get ahead of the competition, and their intention is to get the transfer done ‘in the next few days’.

Amdouni used to belong to Swiss side Lausanne-Sport. Last summer, he was loaned to Basel, who were satisfied with his spell there and completed his purchase for €4m. In his year with the club, the striker had 22 goals and five assists in 52 appearances.

For now, Foot Mercato don’t say how much Burnley are paying to sign the centre-forward. Despite the small fee he just moved for, he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €10m. And since he has also just signed a four-year deal with the club, it’s very possible the Clarets will have to pay quite a bit more to get the signing done.
