Getafe’s Christantus Uche has emerged as a ‘great objective’ for Brighton & Hove Albion in the winter market.
That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say Uche’s ability to operate in midfield and attack and his performances for the La Liga side have caught Brighton’s attention.
The Spanish club signed the 21-year-old in the summer window, and he managed a goal from 15 matches.
Even though his statistics aren’t that impressive, Brighton seemed to be keen, probably because of his potential.
It’s claimed the Seagulls would be willing to make a ‘significant investment’ to secure the versatile player’s services in January. There’s no mention of the fee they are ready to pay or the Spanish club’s demand.
The report further adds if Fabian Hürzeler’s side were to make a concrete offer, it could be difficult for Getafe to reject.
Brighton’s interest provides the Nigeria U23 international an option to make a jump to the Premier League and Getafe to improve their finances.
Last month, Mundo Deportivo stated Aston Villa, Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth could tussle for Uche in January. Brighton would have to be wary of the interest from the Premier League trio.
