For those who thought the rumours linking Boca Juniors star Valentin Barco to Brighton & Hove Albion were dead, here’s a new story talking about that possibility.
The piece comes from Argentine outlet Olé, and talks about the Xeneize’s interest in Kevin Zenón.
It’s said he’s a signing that could arrive to replace Barco, who’s once again wanted by Brighton.
According to Olé, the Seagulls ‘appear again’ in the pursuit of him, and they may actually find an easier situation than in their previous chases.
The reason for it is that Barco has a contract with Boca Juniors until December 2024, meaning that by the next summer, he could sign a pre-contract with another club.
It’s said that the renewal is ‘not easy’ and ‘Brighton know it’. That’s why the Seagulls ‘will return’ for him in the winter market to pay for his US$10m release clause.
That indeed looks like a positive scenario for Brighton to get a player they’ve been following for a long time, and we shall see whether all those claims will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
