Barcelona are ‘keeping a close eye’ on Brighton and Hove Albion star Kaoru Mitoma, with the suggestion that Ansu Fati ‘could be a part of the deal’ for him.
That’s at least what’s suggested by Sport today, who cover the player and a potential swap in the summer involving the two clubs.
The newspaper explains that Barcelona have focused on Mitoma, and he is ‘one of the goals’ for the club in the summer transfer window.
They say Barcelona are working hard on the squad for next season, regardless of who the manager will be now that Xavi has announced his departure.
The idea is to incorporate three new players and one of the targets is a pure winger who can play on the left-hand side.
Savinho had been a target but he’s signing for Manchester City and so the focus is now on Brighton’s Mitoma.
He will not be an easy target to secure, by any means, as his price tag is €50m but Ansu Fati ‘could be part of the deal’.
He is currently on loan at Brighton and does not appear to be in Barcelona’s plans moving forwards, meaning any deal involving him that would get them Mitoma would seemingly be welcomed.
