According to a claim in the Swedish media, Brighton and Hove Albion are set to offer Viktor Gyokeres a new and improved contract.
The Premier League side are said to be impressed by the youngster’s progression in recent months and now they want to tie him down to the club on a longer deal.
Fotboll Direkt today report Brighton are looking to extend Gyokeres contract beyond June 2020, a deal which will bring him line as a Premier League player. It’s claimed talks will commence in the next two weeks over his extension.
Last weekend the young Swede made his debut for the south coast club in the FA Cup 3rd round clash with Bournemouth. Before last Saturday the forward had featured briefly in the EFL Cup.
Gyokeres was recently allowed to join up with the Sweden national team for their January tour (made up mainly of youngsters based in the country) and he’s impressed his national manager Janne Andersson.
