Earlier this month, we covered a claim made in Italy that Fiorentina’s Christian Kouamé has received interest from Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was also stated the forward could change clubs in this window and the Serie A side have opened talks for his exit.
Gianluca Di Marzio has now come up with a fresh report on the 24-year-old, stating that Brighton are pushing to sign him. The Seagulls are joined by Empoli in the chase for the Ivory Coast international.
It’s said Graham Potter’s side ‘could offer Fiorentina’ a deal to take the player on loan with an obligation to buy, if he makes certain number of appearances for the Premier League club this season.
Empoli’s Nedim Bajrami is said to be closer to joining Fiorentina and during the talks for him [and Fiorentina’s Szymon Żurkowski], the former discussed Kouamé with their Serie A counterpart.
Kouamé has one assist from three matches [played for 113 minutes] for Fiorentina this season.
Gianluca Di Marzio only provides details of Brighton pushing to sign the wideman, without giving any details of whether Kouamé is ready to accept a move to The Amex.
