Brighton & Hove Albion have a verbal agreement with Fabian Hürzeler, the German media says.
Sky Deutschland claims that the Seagulls sorted out personal details with the coach, and now speak to FC. St. Pauli about the transfer fee.
Hürzeler’s contract with the Bundesliga side does not include a release clause, but the outlet claims there’s some kind of ‘gentleman’s agreement’ in case of a nice offer from an ‘attractive club’.
It’s pointed out that Brighton would be giving the manager the chance to be the youngest coach in Premier League history, at just 31 years old.
Hürzeler previously worked in Germany’s youth ranks and joined St. Pauli as an assistant coach in 2020. He ended up getting the manager position in December 2022.
This season, he managed to take the club back to the first division by finishing top of the Bundesliga 2, with 69 points in 34 fixtures.
It hasn’t even been a month since Brighton announced the departure of Roberto De Zerbi, who remains without a new club, and the Seagulls worked quickly to get his replacement sorted.
