Assan Ouédraogo’s emergence at Schalke has caught the attention of several clubs and the list includes Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 17-year-old came up through the ranks of the club’s youth system and was promoted to their first team at the start of this season. Operating mainly as a midfielder, he’s scored one goal from nine games.
According to Sky Deutschland, Ouédraogo’s displays have seen him attract interest from Brighton, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen.
The report focuses on the Bavarian club’s plan to try to sign the youngster as they are one of the teams to have already scouted him.
It’s said Thomas Tuchel’s side want to secure a deal and then loan him out to another club. Bayern will face competition from Roberto De Zerbi’s side and other clubs to land the Germany U17 international.
Luckily for all the interested parties, the report states the player ‘wants to take the next step’ in his career.
Ouédraogo will turn 18-years-of-age next May and Sky state that’s when his current deal will be converted into a professional contract until 2027. They add it will also include a release clause worth between €15m and €20m.
