Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi was linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion in the winter market but a move never took shape.
Roberto De Zerbi knows the midfielder very well from his time at the Serie A side and even admitted last November that he didn’t do right by the 23-year-old at Sassuolo.
The Brighton manager hasn’t forgotten about his former player and continues to have him on his transfer agenda for the next window. That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who state the coach isn’t ready to give up on him after a failed attempt in January.
That’s because De Zerbi ‘strongly wants’ to have the Italy international at his disposal at The Amex next season. It’s claimed the manager has already informed about his transfer wish to the Seagulls owner, Tony Bloom.
Therefore, Brighton will return for Frattesi in the summer and will table an important bid to take him away from Sassuolo.
TMW add the ‘contacts are already underway’ to convince the Italian to join the Premier League side.
Frattesi favours giving priority to offers from other Serie A sides over accepting a move to Brighton. This could be an issue for De Zerbi to reunite with his compatriot at the Premier League club.
