Despite some of the biggest clubs being interested in Arthur Vermeeren, it’s Brighton & Hove Albion who could be in the lead to sign the young Belgian.
Atlético Madrid and Manchester United, as well as Barcelona, have been mentioned in the past as wanting to sign the young Antwerp starlet, and the former of that trio recently reached out to gather information on the midfielder.
However, Sacha Tavolieri explains that the player, while flattered by all this, is prioritising a club with the right project, which is a bonus for Brighton.
He recalls that Brighton have been after Vermeeren for the last few months, and have ‘some advantages’ in the race.
In fact, Roberto De Zerbi ‘could be key’ in helping the club acquire the starlet, as he has already shown what he can do for young players in their career at the Seagulls.
What is certain is that Vermeeren will leave ‘for sure’ his club at the end of the season, but ‘nothing is done’ with Brighton, meaning that there is still work to do.
The Amex Stadium side, however, are in a very good spot right now.
🇧🇪⭐️ Huge noise around Arthur Vermeeren these days… As told by @MatteMoretto, #AtleticoMadrid took indeed information with #AntwerpFC to know exactly what could be the possibilities of a deal.
🏴 Interest for the player’s BIG…
BUT what counts – in priority for him – will be… pic.twitter.com/aGW5MOf9F9— Sacha Tavolieri (@sachatavolieri) January 22, 2024
