Mads Bidstrup has returned to Brentford after a successful season on loan at Nordsjælland and his future with the Premier League side is uncertain.
The midfielder has a year left on his deal and the Bees have an option to extend it until 2025.
According to Friday’s Ekstra Bladet, the 22-year-old is unlikely to enjoy regular game next season at Brentford, where Christian Nørgaard, Mathias Jensen and Josh Dasilva are ahead of him.
Should Thomas Frank’s side decide to sell him, the report states they are demanding around DKK 70-80m [€9.3-€10.7m], which is ‘not a realistic price’.
Ekstra Bladet point out players with experience of playing for Denmark like OGC Nice’s Kasper Dolberg and TSG Hoffenheim’s Jacob Bruun Larsen are valued at DKK 35m [€4.7m] and DKK 15m [€2m] respectively.
Taking this into account, it’s explained that Brentford’s demands are a ‘little unrealistic’. The newspaper states the Premier League side setting a high price for Bidstrup is an indication that they are ‘not selling him’.
The Brentford man had ‘flirted quite a bit’ with FC Copenhagen but Ekstra Bladet state he’s unlikely to change clubs, unless it’s on loan or Frank’s side ‘significantly’ lower the price.
