Brentford are now ‘very close’ to securing an agreement with Feyenoord for midfielder Antoni Milambo.

That’s according to 1908.nl, who report that the transfer saga around the 20-year-old may be about to come to an end.

Brentford have been chasing Milambo since April, when it was reported that they were already speaking to the midfielder about a move this summer.

The matter has been moving backwards and forwards since then, with it made clear in the Netherlands that Feyenoord do no intend to sell on the cheap. There’s also been claims that Milambo was wavering on whether to make the move.

The latest report was that a secret delegation had travelled from Brentford over the weekend to speak with Feyenoord and work on a deal for the midfielder. That report stated that a formal offer was expected sooner rather than later.

1908 now report that Feyenoord and Brentford are ‘very close’ to an agreement over Milambo. That would suggest the secret talks over the weekend have gone well.

There is no mention of the asking price being discussed, Feyenoord are believed to want €25m, but in the Netherlands at least there is no positivity the deal will be done.
