Brentford’s Sergi Canós has already flown to Valencia to seal his move to the club and bring his long-drawn-out transfer saga to an end.
That’s according to Las Provincias, who say the Spanish club have closed their agreement with the player and are now signing the final documents with Brentford.
The newspaper reports that Canós has already flown in to Valencia ahead of becoming Valencia’s second signing of the summer.
They explain that Valencia and the player ‘sealed their agreement’ on Wednesday and all that remains is for him ‘close all the documentation’ with Brentford.
He will arrive at the Mestalla on a transfer worth around €250,000, that figure having been the stumbling block which has held the matter up for months.
As explained yesterday, the deal has now been made possible thanks to the departure of Uros Racic, whose move to Sassuolo has provided Valencia with the funds to sign Canós.
That’s now in the absolute final stages and should be done sooner rather than later, allowing us all to move on from one of the more boring, drawn-out sagas of this summer.
