Back on Saturday night, the word in the Belgian media had been that Antonio Nusa was ‘on course’ to join Tottenham Hotspur, who were believed to have an agreement with Club Brugge.

A lot can change in a few hours, though, especially at the end of a transfer window, and all of a sudden it’s reported that it’s now Brentford who are about to sign the 18-year-old.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri writes that the Bees found a deal with Club Brugge this morning, and are close to winning the race for Nusa.

Brentford are said to be ready to spend €30m on the transfer, and the player is travelling to England for the ‘usual formalities’ before the deal is signed.

The winger isn’t expected to move to the Bees right away, though, as he’s staying in Belgium on a loan until the end of the season.

Regarding the battle between Brentford and Tottenham, it’s said the player ‘opted for the career path’ proposed by the Bees, as he’s set to have more playing time there than with Spurs. A contract until 2030 is said to be waiting for him.
