Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted he can’t wait to get started with Rúben Amorim, who hopes he is a “breath of fresh air”.
Tipsbladet have comments from the Manchester United man today in which he is asked directly about his expectations of life under the new United boss.
Amorim is set to officially take charge of Manchester United this week, with him and his staff still waiting on work permit clearance before getting underway.
He arrives at Old Trafford with a big reputation following the work he’s done at Sporting Club de Portugal in the last few years, turning them into the dominant side in Portugal and Champions League regulars.
That reputation was only enhanced before the international break too, with a stunning 4-1 win over Manchester City adding to his credentials.
He takes over a Manchester United side at a low point, though, with them currently 13th in the Premier League table and four points outside of the top four. 13 points separate them from leaders Liverpool.
It’s been a miserable start to the season for them and Eriksen is hoping Amorim’s arrival can be like a breath of fresh air for everyone.
“I am looking forward to coming back,” he said.
“Of course, I’ve seen his results recently and I’ve seen how much Sporting has suddenly come into the media and won a lot of games – including against Manchester City.
“I hope he comes in and creates a breath of fresh air, and then we have to see how it goes.”
