Signed by AFC Bournemouth from Lyon in the summer for €15m, Romain Faivre was immediately sent to affiliate club Lorient in Ligue 1 on loan for the season.
The desire will have been for him to play regularly before trying English football next season, and that’s what was happening until very recently.
Despite making 17 appearances in the league and scoring five goals, the Bournemouth loanee has been left out of the squad in the last three games, and Ouest-France reckon that could be the end for him at Lorient.
They explain that the public line is Faivre has been missing because of some recurring hamstring issues, but there could be more to it.
The fact he is loaned without an option to buy by Bournemouth means a return to the Vitality Stadium is a possibilities, and he could ‘leave’ the Ligue 1 side this winter.
In fact, the belief is his ‘future will be decided in the next few days’.
Whether he is someone Andoni Iraola would want for the second half of the Premier League campaign remains to be seen, but if he isn’t wanted by the Spaniard just yet, then another loan might be on the cards for Faivre.
