On Monday, we covered claims from Italy which stated Manchester City plan to make a ‘maxi offer’ of €35m to sign Torino’s Samuele Ricci in January. It was also reported Pep Guardiola is ‘ready to steal’ the midfielder from AC Milan’s clutches.
At the weekend, Calciomercato stated the 23-year-old’s future will be at a top club and Manchester City are named as one of the contenders.
Sport Mediaset now mention Manchester City and Rossoneri interest in Ricci when providing the Turin club’s stance on him.
The Italy international has been a regular for the Serie A side this season, making 16 appearances in all competitions. The Premier League winners and Milan are his interested parties, but they won’t be able to secure his services, at least in January.
Torino president Urbano Cairo has been speaking to Radio Sportivo about the Manchester City target.
“He will certainly remain with Granata [Torino’s nickname],” he said, as quoted by Sport Mediaset.
This would come as a blow for Manchester City, considering Guardiola wants to steal him. The Premier League winners may have to look elsewhere if they wish to sign a new midfielder in the winter market.
Ricci’s contract lasts until 2026 and without a renewal, Torino could be forced to sell him next summer.
